Introduction

The TT260 coating thickness gauge uses magnetic and eddy current methods to measure the thickness of non-magnetic coatings (such as chromium, zinc, copper, aluminum, enamel, rubber, paint, etc.) on magnetic metal substrates (such as steel, iron, alloy and hard magnetic steel, etc.) and non-conductive coatings (such as enamel, rubber, paint, plastic, etc.) on non-magnetic metal substrates (such as copper, aluminum, zinc, tin, etc.).

Working Principle

Magnetic method (F-type probe) when the probe is in contact with the covering layer, the probe and the magnetic metal matrix form a closed magnetic circuit. Due to the existence of the non-magnetic covering layer, the magnetoresistance of the magnetic circuit changes, and the thickness of the covering layer can be derived by measuring its change.

The eddy current method (N-type probe) uses high-frequency alternating current to generate an electromagnetic field in the coil. when the probe is in contact with the cover layer, an eddy current is generated on the metal matrix and feedback to the coil in the probe. The thickness of the cover layer can be derived by measuring the feedback effect.
